A typically busy Tuesday morning for one Northern Kentucky woman was upended when a deer bolted across the parking lot and hit her.

Edgewood police Chief Tony Kramer said the woman was dropping her child off at the school around 7 a.m. when the incident happened.

Kramer said the woman was taken to a local hospital after suffering broken bones when the deer knocked her to the pavement.

“Deer, they just pop up out of nowhere,” said Steven Finke.

Few people know more about deer than Finke, who works at his family’s market in Park Hills.
